Project Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in manufacturing and industrial project management to oversee complex Navy and commercial contracts from cradle to grave. This role demands expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and ERP systems, with a focus on managing multiple large-scale projects, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Completion (ETC) reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience leading projects in manufacturing environments, managing budgets, schedules, and delivering projects on time and within scope.
This role is onsite in Portland, Oregon.
- Project Manager ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end management of complex manufacturing projects, ensuring successful execution within budget and schedule constraints.
- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, schedules, and milestones, ensuring alignment with Navy contract requirements.
- Manage all phases of projects, from initial planning and engineering to final execution and delivery.
- Oversee Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Completion (ETC) processes, providing accurate and timely updates.
- Coordinate with customer representatives, regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with ABS, USCG, and other regulatory standards, preparing and submitting required applications and documentation.
- Approve construction drawings, specifications, and technical data, ensuring adherence to project requirements.
- Monitor and report on project progress, including financial reviews, construction milestones, and status updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external engineering firms, production groups, and subcontractors to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Project Manager QualificationsPMP certification is required.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in a manufacturing environment, managing large-scale projects.
- Proven expertise in budget management, scheduling, and utilizing ERP systems (e.g., Vista Viewpoint preferred).
- Experience with Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Completion (ETC) processes.
- Strong familiarity with ABS/AISC rules, USCG regulations, and heavy structural steel fabrication.
- Technical proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and other project management software.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to managing deadlines and deliverables.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, or similar).
- Experience in shipyards, marine commercial fabrication, or heavy manufacturing industries.
